The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with complex needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. This role involves delivering targeted interventions, working closely with parents and external agencies, and contributing to the academic and emotional development of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with EHCPs and those in designated provision through individual and group interventions.
  • Plan, deliver, and track the impact of targeted learning support sessions.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure consistent support for pupils.
  • Assist in the delivery of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) interventions in the ‘soft landing’ area.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure effective and inclusive classroom practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development and training initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a range of responsibilities.
  • Understanding of SEMH support strategies.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience with intervention planning and delivery.
  • Qualifications in education or related fields.
