The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with SEMH and complex needs, helping them build confidence, independence, and curiosity. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and engaging learning experience for every pupil.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teachers in delivering hands-on, inspiring lessons
Lead small groups and provide tailored 1:1 support to meet each pupil’s individual needs
Encourage confidence, independence, and curiosity in students
Work across indoor and outdoor settings to enhance learning experiences
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote student wellbeing and progress
Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all students
Follow school policies and procedures related to safeguarding and student welfare
Assist in the planning and delivery of structured learning activities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

Full UK Driving Licence
Experience working with children or holding GCSEs in English and Maths
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, adaptability, and a caring attitude
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture

Preferred

Experience in special education or working with students with SEMH challenges
Knowledge of trauma-informed and neurodiversity-focused approaches
Experience with behaviour management strategies
Previous teaching or support assistant experience
