The Opportunity:
A Class Teacher is needed to help build a school from the ground up, delivering tailored education to students in Years 5 to 8. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with diverse learning needs, while shaping the future of a new academy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, tailored lesson plans for students with SEMH needs.
- Work closely with a team of skilled professionals to support student progress and well-being.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional resilience and academic growth.
- Collaborate with therapists and intervention specialists to provide holistic support for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and coaching opportunities.
- Contribute to the shaping of the school’s vision, culture, and educational provision.
- Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Primary and/or Secondary education.
- Proven ability to work with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
- Ability to develop and deliver innovative, engaging lesson plans.
Preferred
- Experience with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Familiarity with therapeutic and intervention-based teaching approaches.
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Leadership or mentoring experience within a school environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Main / Upper Payscale + SEN Allowance.
