The Opportunity:

A Class Teacher is needed to help build a school from the ground up, delivering tailored education to students in Years 5 to 8. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with diverse learning needs, while shaping the future of a new academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, tailored lesson plans for students with SEMH needs.
  • Work closely with a team of skilled professionals to support student progress and well-being.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional resilience and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with therapists and intervention specialists to provide holistic support for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and coaching opportunities.
  • Contribute to the shaping of the school’s vision, culture, and educational provision.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Primary and/or Secondary education.
  • Proven ability to work with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.
  • Ability to develop and deliver innovative, engaging lesson plans.

Preferred

  • Experience with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Familiarity with therapeutic and intervention-based teaching approaches.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within a school environment.
