The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Temporary Junior Teacher to join our Year 5 team for one academic year, starting in September 2026. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons to Year 5 students in line with the school’s curriculum.
- Support the development of students’ academic and personal growth through tailored teaching and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience for all pupils.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Participate in school events and extracurricular activities to enhance student engagement and school community.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of cross-curricular and enrichment activities.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
- Experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally with Year 5 students.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Preferred
- Experience working in a co-educational environment.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technology.
- A passion for fostering student confidence and a love of learning.
- Experience with curriculum development or assessment strategies.
