Summary:

School Data Manager needed to manage SIMS and ensure accurate student data recording and reporting.

The Opportunity:

As a School Data Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing the school’s SIMS system to ensure accurate data recording, reporting, and compliance with GDPR legislation. This position is essential in supporting data-driven decision-making and the overall performance of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure pupil records are accurate and up-to-date within SIMS
  • Create and maintain SIMS assessment manager and SISRA databases
  • Oversee the completion of Census and CES census and other statistical government returns
  • Support the production of the school timetable and KS4 options
  • Prepare the new academic year calendar in SIMS
  • Ensure smooth transfer of data between SIMS modules and external systems
  • Update and apply changes to courses, teachers, and rooms throughout the year
  • Allocate student class memberships and manage data retention and deletion

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in managing SIMS and other data systems
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and data compliance
  • Ability to produce and interpret reports on student progress and performance
  • Experience in data entry, management, and analysis
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

Preferred

  • Experience with SISRA and external databases such as FFT and DfE
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting
  • Training in data management or related fields
  • Experience in supporting staff with SIMS and SISRA training
