The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Temporary PE Technician to support the PE department and contribute to the school’s vibrant extra-curricular programme. This role is ideal for someone passionate about physical education and keen to make a positive impact on students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the PE department by assisting with lesson delivery and student supervision.
  • Maintain and manage PE equipment to ensure it is safe and ready for use.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of extra-curricular sports activities, including coaching and officiating.
  • Work flexibly, including after-school hours where applicable, to support the school’s sports programme.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with PE staff to deliver high-quality physical education to students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting, preferably in a PE-related role.
  • Ability to coach or officiate in one of the school’s main sports, such as football, rugby, or basketball.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Flexibility to work term-time only and within agreed hours.

Preferred

  • Experience with fitness or sports development.
  • Previous experience in a temporary or contract-based role.
  • Knowledge of PE curriculum and best practices in physical education.
