The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join our Social Sciences department and support Key Stage 3 and 4 students. This role offers the chance to shape young minds, develop critical thinking skills, and inspire a deep understanding of history. Full support is provided for those new to teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements for Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning
  • Develop students’ critical thinking and analytical skills through historical inquiry and discussion
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals and preparing for assessments
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department
  • Stay up to date with current events and historical developments to enrich lesson content
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their progress and development
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school-wide initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong interest in history and enthusiasm for teaching young people
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet curriculum requirements
  • Basic classroom management skills
  • Relevant qualifications or working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or working with young people
  • Experience with Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum delivery
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar
  • A commitment to developing a rich and diverse curriculum
