The Opportunity:

The Theatre Graduate Assistant will play a key role in supporting the school’s thriving drama and theatre departments. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in theatre production, directing, and drama education. The role also includes tutoring in one of the school’s boarding houses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, production, and performance of a wide range of theatre and drama productions.
  • Assist in the delivery of drama and theatre-related curriculum and co-curricular activities.
  • Provide pastoral support and tutoring within a boarding house environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and students to enhance the quality of theatre and drama education.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of theatre facilities and equipment.
  • Participate in professional development and mentoring opportunities.
  • Assist in the administration and management of theatre-related events and activities.
  • Engage with students to inspire a passion for theatre and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A graduate degree in drama, theatre, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate with a strong interest in theatre and performing arts education.
  • Experience or enthusiasm for theatre production, directing, or drama teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or mentoring students.
  • Experience with theatre design or stage management.
  • Knowledge of drama education curricula and pedagogy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
