Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a challenging and engaging curriculum.
- Support and mentor teaching staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Coordinate examination processes and monitor student progress to ensure academic success.
- Play a key role in Oxbridge and UCAS preparation for students.
- Manage the departmental budget and resources effectively.
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good honours degree in English.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and ICT skills.
- Demonstrable classroom experience and a commitment to academic excellence.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with the IB Diploma, A-levels, and BTEC qualifications.
- Experience in supporting students with Oxbridge and UCAS applications.
- A passion for English and a commitment to innovative teaching practices.
