The Opportunity:
A-Level Chemistry Teacher is sought to inspire and educate students in a forward-thinking environment. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, leading enrichment activities, and contributing to the school’s vibrant academic and pastoral community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4 (IGCSE)
- Set challenging learning objectives and ensure high levels of student interest and achievement
- Use a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles
- Assess, record and monitor student progress systematically
- Provide meaningful feedback and set clear targets for improvement
- Plan and lead chemistry-related enrichment activities (e.g. Science Week, STEM clubs)
- Support students in internal and external science competitions
- Act as a Form Tutor if required
- Support the wellbeing and academic progress of assigned students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemistry Education, or a closely related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent)
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience teaching Chemistry at KS3 and KS4 level, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting
- Experience teaching IGCSE Chemistry is essential
- Demonstrated experience leading practical laboratory work
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Preferred
- Passion for science education and fostering curiosity in young learners
- Experience with A-Level Chemistry teaching
- Involvement in science competitions or extracurricular activities
