The Opportunity:

A-Level Chemistry Teacher is sought to inspire and educate students in a forward-thinking environment. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, leading enrichment activities, and contributing to the school’s vibrant academic and pastoral community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging chemistry lessons across KS3 and KS4 (IGCSE)
  • Set challenging learning objectives and ensure high levels of student interest and achievement
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles
  • Assess, record and monitor student progress systematically
  • Provide meaningful feedback and set clear targets for improvement
  • Plan and lead chemistry-related enrichment activities (e.g. Science Week, STEM clubs)
  • Support students in internal and external science competitions
  • Act as a Form Tutor if required
  • Support the wellbeing and academic progress of assigned students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemistry Education, or a closely related field (Master's preferred)
  • Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience teaching Chemistry at KS3 and KS4 level, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting
  • Experience teaching IGCSE Chemistry is essential
  • Demonstrated experience leading practical laboratory work
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Preferred

  • Passion for science education and fostering curiosity in young learners
  • Experience with A-Level Chemistry teaching
  • Involvement in science competitions or extracurricular activities
