Summary:

The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the mathematical understanding and enthusiasm of students at both KS4 and KS5 levels. This is an exciting opportunity to teach A-Level Further Mathematics and contribute to a vibrant, student-centered learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons at KS4 (IGCSE) and KS5 (A-Level, including Further Maths)
  • Set challenging learning objectives and ensure high levels of student interest and achievement
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles
  • Assess, record and monitor student progress systematically
  • Provide meaningful feedback and set clear targets for improvement
  • Plan and lead maths-related enrichment activities (e.g. Maths Week, Maths Club, Olympiad preparation)
  • Support students in internal and external mathematics competitions
  • Act as a Form Tutor if required
  • Support the wellbeing and academic progress of assigned students
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development and school events
  • Contribute to the wider corporate life of the school (e.g. Open Evenings, Parents' Evenings)
  • Take responsibility for continuing professional development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field (Master's preferred)
  • Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Mathematics at KS4 and KS5 level, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting
  • Experience teaching A-Level Further Mathematics is essential
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Passionate about mathematics education and fostering problem-solving skills in young learners

Preferred

  • Experience in a bilingual or international school environment
  • Experience with curriculum development or leadership roles
  • Familiarity with international assessment standards (e.g. IGCSE, A-Level)
