The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated English Teacher Key Stage 3 & 4 to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inspiring students in literature, language, and critical thinking within a supportive and forward-thinking educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with international curricula such as IGCSE and A-Level.
  • Teach English language, literature, and writing to students across Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills using a variety of instructional strategies.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the pastoral system, including serving as a homeroom teacher or academic advisor.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with the English department and cross-disciplinary teams on curriculum development and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, English Education, Literature, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, state license, or international equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an international or bilingual school setting.
  • Familiarity with international English curricula such as IGCSE and A-Level English.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, motivating learning environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and student-centered teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Background in pastoral care or student mentorship.
  • Fluency in a second language, particularly Mandarin.
