The Opportunity:
As an Academic Skills Administrator, you will support the school’s SEND Department by managing assessments, Access Arrangements, and statutory processes in line with JCQ regulations. This role is essential in ensuring that students with additional needs can access learning and examinations fairly and effectively, playing a key part in the school’s commitment to inclusion and academic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate assessments, Access Arrangements, and statutory processes in line with JCQ regulations.
- Support the SENCo and teaching staff in delivering effective academic support to students with additional needs.
- Liaise with external agencies and the Exams Office to ensure compliance and smooth administration.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is up to date and properly filed.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to provide clear information and support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to SEND provision.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and a hands-on approach.
- Ensure all processes are completed with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in an educational or administrative role, preferably within a school setting.
- Knowledge of JCQ regulations and statutory processes related to assessments and Access Arrangements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using administrative software and systems.
Preferred
- Experience working within a SEND Department or supporting students with additional needs.
- Familiarity with Virtual Learning Environments and educational technology.
- Experience in managing and coordinating assessments and exams.
- Understanding of inclusive education practices and policies.
