The Opportunity:

As an Art and Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the Art, Food, and Design & Technology departments. This is a non-teaching, term-time only position that requires a proactive and customer-focused approach to ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain resources, equipment, and infrastructure within the Art and Technology departments.
  • Provide practical support to teaching staff to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Promote and enforce health and safety standards in all workshop areas.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure the smooth operation of departmental activities.
  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of practical lessons and projects.
  • Support students in developing their skills in a safe and encouraging environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance schedules.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in an educational workshop environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people in a school setting.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in Art, Food, or Design & Technology departments.
  • Experience with health and safety training and procedures.
  • Knowledge of using and maintaining a range of workshop equipment.
  • Experience in a school or college setting.
