The Opportunity:
As an Art and Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the Art, Food, and Design & Technology departments. This is a non-teaching, term-time only position that requires a proactive and customer-focused approach to ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain resources, equipment, and infrastructure within the Art and Technology departments.
- Provide practical support to teaching staff to enhance student learning experiences.
- Promote and enforce health and safety standards in all workshop areas.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure the smooth operation of departmental activities.
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of practical lessons and projects.
- Support students in developing their skills in a safe and encouraging environment.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance schedules.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in an educational workshop environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with young people in a school setting.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Previous experience in Art, Food, or Design & Technology departments.
- Experience with health and safety training and procedures.
- Knowledge of using and maintaining a range of workshop equipment.
- Experience in a school or college setting.
