The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Safeguarding Lead, you will play a vital role in safeguarding students and promoting their welfare. You will support staff, collaborate with external services, and provide mentoring for vulnerable students. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and advice to staff on safeguarding issues and student welfare.
- Develop and maintain effective liaison with external agencies and services.
- Deliver intervention and mentoring support for a key case load of vulnerable students.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding across the school community.
- Monitor and report on safeguarding incidents in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and review of safeguarding policies and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation and best practice guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in safeguarding or a related field.
- Experience in a safeguarding or pastoral role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external agencies.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior safeguarding role or as a Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
- Knowledge of mental health and well-being support strategies.
- Experience in working with vulnerable students and providing mentoring support.
- Training in trauma-informed practices or child protection.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £30,547 - £36,751 (pro rata, per annum).
- 37 hours per week, term time only plus 3 weeks (41 weeks).
