The Opportunity:

Join a school as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice and gain hands-on experience while working towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. This role offers a unique chance to develop your skills in supporting students with SEND needs, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with identified SEND needs in the classroom and beyond.
  • Deliver targeted educational interventions and support to small groups or individuals.
  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and performance.
  • Act as a keyworker for named pupils and maintain strong communication with families.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through positive engagement and collaboration.
  • Uphold and model the values and behaviours that define the school’s vision.
  • Recognise and celebrate the achievements of pupils, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Follow procedures for reporting concerns about a pupil’s welfare.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Demonstrable levels of numeracy and literacy equivalent to GCSE (A*-C or 9-4) or above in English and Maths.
  • Commitment to supporting students with SEND needs and promoting inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate with increases after 12 months.
  • Part-time working pattern of 30 hours per week.
  • Fixed term contract for 1 year and 4 months.
