Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring art and design lessons that meet curriculum standards.
- Develop and maintain a stimulating and creative learning environment.
- Support students in developing their artistic abilities and confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the department.
- Assess and provide constructive feedback to students on their work.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to art and design.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of art and design education.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care and other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in art and design education.
- Strong knowledge of art and design curriculum and pedagogy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and motivate students.
- Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering art and design at both Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Experience in leading or contributing to a departmental team.
- Knowledge of using digital tools and technologies in art and design teaching.
- Experience in working with students with a range of abilities and needs.
