Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the departmental Scheme of Work and examination specifications.
- Promote the welfare of students and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support the Head of Department in updating curriculum planning and department policies.
- Create and maintain a variety of teaching resources that enhance student learning and engagement.
- Provide effective homework and exam-based assignments, and offer support for coursework and deadlines.
- Assist in student interviews and provide guidance on course suitability and academic progression.
- Reinforce the aims and values of the school through teaching and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in fine arts or a relevant subject.
- Experience teaching young people aged 14+ in an educational context.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver stimulating and effective lessons.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and online systems/databases.
- Knowledge of curriculum initiatives and developments at Key Stage 4 and post-16 levels.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing a range of teaching strategies.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and student welfare practices.
- Commitment to supporting students with barriers to learning.
- A positive and inspiring attitude to maintaining student discipline.
