Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging A-level Chemistry lessons to small groups of motivated students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student learning and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Support students in preparing for examinations and achieving their academic goals.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate new ideas into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in a relevant subject, ideally from a leading university.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons to students of all abilities.
  • High expectations of yourself and your students.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to contribute to the school community.

Preferred

  • Previous teaching experience, particularly in A-level Chemistry.
  • Experience with teacher training programs or qualifications such as ECT or QTS.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced academic environment.
  • Experience with safeguarding and student welfare practices.
