The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Art & Technology Teacher to join our team on a temporary basis, covering maternity leave from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development within a supportive and high-achieving school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Art & Technology lessons tailored to the needs of students across different year groups.
  • Prepare and develop engaging teaching materials, programmes, and pastoral arrangements to support student learning.
  • Monitor and track student progress, ensuring all pupils have the opportunity to meet their full potential.
  • Implement effective strategies to support students with Special Educational Needs and lead the preparation and review of SEN Support Arrangements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and student engagement.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment to child protection and safeguarding.
  • Evidence of effective continuous professional development.
  • Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience in delivering Art & Technology curriculum at secondary level.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Background in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with digital tools and technologies in the classroom.
  • Previous experience in a school setting within a multi-academy trust.
