Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and shape academic policy to align with the school’s strategic vision.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil performance data to inform targeted interventions.
  • Ensure high academic standards and drive excellent public examination outcomes.
  • Oversee curriculum development and review for all key stages, including SEN and EAL provision.
  • Support and empower Heads of Department to build high-performing teams.
  • Implement and manage academic policies, compliance, and inspection readiness.
  • Deliver professional development through lesson observations, coaching, and CPD.
  • Manage academic budgets and staffing structures effectively.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular program and pastoral community.
  • Teach an academic subject to KS4 and 5 students.
  • Lead the use of student voice and feedback in academic planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in middle or senior leadership with whole-school responsibility.
  • A track record of driving academic excellence and improving outcomes.
  • Strong strategic vision and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding school environment.
  • Background in curriculum design and development.
  • Experience with assessment and reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
