Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and shape academic policy to align with the school’s strategic vision.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil performance data to inform targeted interventions.
- Ensure high academic standards and drive excellent public examination outcomes.
- Oversee curriculum development and review for all key stages, including SEN and EAL provision.
- Support and empower Heads of Department to build high-performing teams.
- Implement and manage academic policies, compliance, and inspection readiness.
- Deliver professional development through lesson observations, coaching, and CPD.
- Manage academic budgets and staffing structures effectively.
- Contribute to the co-curricular program and pastoral community.
- Teach an academic subject to KS4 and 5 students.
- Lead the use of student voice and feedback in academic planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in middle or senior leadership with whole-school responsibility.
- A track record of driving academic excellence and improving outcomes.
- Strong strategic vision and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to build strong relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in a boarding school environment.
- Background in curriculum design and development.
- Experience with assessment and reporting systems.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
