The Opportunity:

The Assistant Head of Academic (G10 - G12) will lead teaching and learning for the IB Diploma and A-Level Programmes, ensuring high-quality education for students in Grades 10-12. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader committed to academic excellence and student success in a progressive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for Pedagogy / Teaching and Learning for the IB Diploma and A-Level Programme.
  • Ensure the Secondary School Curriculum is implemented effectively across Grades 10-12.
  • Oversee all IBDP and A-Level administration, including registrations, examinations, and results.
  • Develop and embed the IB ethos, including the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Teaching and Learning.
  • Support the implementation of teaching and learning practices in line with IB requirements.
  • Oversee the Extended Essay, TOK, and CAS components of the DP Core.
  • Promote the IB Diploma Programme and IAD programme within and beyond the community.
  • Liaise with the Head of Secondary School and the CNC Coordinator on curriculum pathways.
  • Prepare annual budgets for the IB Diploma and A-Level programmes.
  • Advise on new course offerings and micro-credentialing pathways.
  • Deliver presentations to students and parents about the IBDP, IAD, and Pioneer Year.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least two years post-qualification experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • PGCE or QTS, or a teaching license from non-UK countries.

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB Diploma Programme and A-Level curricula.
  • Leadership experience in academic or educational settings.
  • Strong knowledge of international educational standards and practices.
  • Experience with teaching and learning in a bilingual environment.
