Summary:

Head of Boarding required to lead and develop a safe, supportive boarding environment for students.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Boarding, you will lead and shape the boarding community, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for students. This role is central to promoting the school’s values and providing a homely atmosphere for boarding pupils and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the boarding programme, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and values.
  • Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of boarding students.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote student welfare, discipline, and community engagement.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about boarding policies and student progress.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive experience for all students.
  • Organize and oversee boarding events and activities that enhance student life and community spirit.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all boarding students through proactive monitoring and support.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive continuous improvement in boarding services.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of two years post-qualification experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Relevant teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or international teaching license.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a boarding environment within an international school setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience in promoting student wellbeing and academic achievement.
