The Opportunity:

As the Head of Secondary School, you will lead and inspire a team of educators, shaping the academic and pastoral experience for students. This role is pivotal in ensuring the school’s vision is realized through effective leadership, curriculum development, and staff support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning, with students at the center of all decisions.
  • Oversee the safeguarding and wellbeing of students, in line with the school’s policies and values.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Lead curriculum planning and implementation, ensuring alignment with school goals and student needs.
  • Support and mentor staff, promoting professional development and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with the DSLT and other teams to maintain strong communication with parents and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage school policies, including performance management and self-evaluation.
  • Promote and oversee extra-curricular programs, including ECAs, trips, and the House system.
  • Act as a key ambassador for the school, building relationships with external agencies and the community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least five years of post-qualification experience in a leadership role within education.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • PGCE or QTS, or equivalent teaching license from non-UK countries.

Preferred

  • Experience in international curriculum delivery, such as IB or Chinese national curriculum.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience in school management and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated success in staff development and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
