The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Assistant Headteacher to lead the 6th Form and Inclusion at a school dedicated to student success and inclusion. This role is central to shaping a high-performing, inclusive environment where students achieve academically and personally. The successful candidate will drive improvements in post-16 education and support student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the 6th Form, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and raise attainment across Key Stage 5.
  • Oversee the curriculum, assessment, and qualifications, including A Levels, T Levels, and vocational pathways.
  • Support the inclusion agenda, ensuring all students have access to quality education and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to shape the vision and direction of the 6th Form.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, attainment, and achievement.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive culture across the 6th Form and wider school community.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to teaching and support staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a post-16 setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Key Stage 5 curriculum, assessment, and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering strong post-16 results.
  • Experience in managing and leading a 6th Form department.
  • Strong classroom practice and the ability to model excellence in teaching.
  • Commitment to inclusion and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience with T Levels and vocational qualifications.
  • Knowledge of recent reforms in post-16 education.
  • Experience in character education or student development initiatives.
  • Leadership experience within a multi-academy trust or similar structure.
