Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons that promote physical literacy, confidence, and lifelong participation in sport.
  • Develop and implement a broad and inclusive curriculum that supports student engagement and achievement.
  • Lead and manage extracurricular sporting activities, including participation in local, regional, and national competitions.
  • Support students in preparing for Key Stage 4 and 5 qualifications, including NCFE Health and Fitness and BTEC National qualifications in Sport.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and effective approach to teaching and learning across the school.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students, working closely with the chaplaincy department and other support services.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and leadership skills.
  • Assist with KS3 Science teaching as required, up to 30% of the time during the first year.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching PE at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Commitment to student development and a passion for inspiring young people through sport.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage a varied and challenging workload.
  • Experience in delivering a broad and inclusive PE curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering NCFE Health and Fitness or BTEC National qualifications in Sport.
  • Ability to teach A Level PE.
  • Experience in working within a Christian school environment.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
