The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Part Time Food Technology Technician to join our dedicated Design & Technology team. This role will support the delivery of Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment for students. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining equipment, preparing resources, and upholding high standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain equipment, ingredients, and resources for Food Technology lessons.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are followed in the classroom and kitchen areas.
  • Support teachers and students during lessons, providing general assistance and guidance.
  • Monitor, maintain, and order consumables and equipment as required.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and students in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet the needs of the department.
  • Uphold the school’s values and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the upkeep of classrooms and facilities in line with school standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Experience working in a school environment, ideally in a technical or support role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Competent use of ICT, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of safeguarding requirements for working with children.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a Food Technology or Design & Technology department.
  • Experience with preparing and maintaining equipment for practical lessons.
  • Background in teaching or supporting students in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with GCSE and A Level Food Technology curricula.
