The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Headteacher – Achievement and Inclusion, you will provide strategic leadership in driving whole-school achievement and inclusion. You will ensure that all students, especially vulnerable groups, make strong progress and achieve highly. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real impact on student outcomes and school performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and monitor attainment and progress for KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Provide detailed analysis of data, assessment, and school performance measures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve achievement and inclusion across the school.
  • Support and lead staff in driving collaboration and professional growth.
  • Ensure strong communication and organisational skills are used to promote inclusive education.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Model and inspire excellence in teaching through outstanding classroom practice.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of vulnerable student groups.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a secondary setting.
  • Strong understanding of data, assessment, and school performance measures, including Progress 8.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving outcomes at KS3 and KS4.
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to model and inspire excellence.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within a school improvement context.
  • Experience with Character Education initiatives.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable student groups.
  • Experience in leading and developing staff teams.
