The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, including those with dyslexia, ADHD/ADD, and social emotional and behavioural difficulties. This role is vital in helping students achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special needs across a range of lessons and subjects.
  • Assist in the delivery of individualized learning plans and interventions.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to students who require additional guidance.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and development.
  • Create a safe and encouraging environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to support student learning and well-being.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within a team environment.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of dyslexia, ADHD/ADD, and social emotional learning strategies.
  • Experience with inclusive education practices.
  • Familiarity with educational software and resources.
