The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, including those with dyslexia, ADHD/ADD, and social emotional and behavioural difficulties. This role is vital in helping students achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special needs across a range of lessons and subjects.
- Assist in the delivery of individualized learning plans and interventions.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to students who require additional guidance.
- Monitor and report on student progress and development.
- Create a safe and encouraging environment for all students.
- Collaborate with parents and carers to support student learning and well-being.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently within a team environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of dyslexia, ADHD/ADD, and social emotional learning strategies.
- Experience with inclusive education practices.
- Familiarity with educational software and resources.
