The Opportunity:

The Assistant Maths Curriculum Leader will support the Curriculum Leader in raising standards of teaching and learning across the subject area. This role offers the chance to lead and inspire a team of educators, drive curriculum improvements, and make a lasting impact on student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the maths curriculum to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Support the Curriculum Leader in monitoring and improving the quality of teaching through lesson observations and feedback.
  • Collaborate with other curriculum areas to develop cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Promote enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities within the maths department.
  • Manage departmental finances and resources effectively to support student achievement.
  • Ensure the curriculum aligns with the school’s vision and regularly review departmental objectives.
  • Inspire and motivate colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to implement strategies that improve student outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified and experienced teacher eligible to work in the UK.
  • Proven experience in teaching 11-16 phase with a track record of delivering Good/Outstanding lessons.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and understanding of current curriculum developments.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or middle management role within education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in raising student achievement and attainment.
  • Familiarity with cross-curricular teaching and learning approaches.
  • Experience with extracurricular activity planning and delivery.
