As a Teaching Assistant SEN, you will work closely with teachers and students to deliver individualized learning plans and ensure a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Individual Learning Plans under the supervision of teachers.
  • Provide regular feedback to class teachers on student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with the supervision of small groups of pupils when the teacher is not present.
  • Ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities and support their diverse needs.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance teaching strategies and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the performance management process and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents using clear and accurate spoken English.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in literacy and numeracy.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
  • Commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • Experience working with children with communication, severe, profound or complex learning difficulties.

Preferred

  • Experience in a special educational needs setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a wide range of student needs.
