The Opportunity:
As Assistant Principal (Students), you will lead and support the pastoral care and inclusion strategy across the institution. This role is vital to ensuring every student receives the academic and personal guidance they need to succeed. You will work closely with Senior Pastoral Leads and Progress Tutors to create a supportive and nurturing environment for all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the Senior Pastoral Leads and their teams of Progress Tutors.
- Oversee the pastoral care and inclusion strategies across the institution.
- Support the development and well-being of students through academic and personal guidance.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment with the school’s mission and values.
- Ensure the implementation of policies that promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pastoral care initiatives.
- Provide leadership in the development of student support programs and interventions.
- Work with external agencies and stakeholders to support student welfare and inclusion.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably in a senior pastoral or student support role.
- Strong understanding of pastoral care, inclusion, and student welfare strategies.
- Experience in managing teams and leading initiatives that support student development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college.
- Familiarity with Catholic educational values and ethos.
- Experience in working with diverse student populations and supporting inclusion initiatives.
- Knowledge of current educational policies and best practices in student welfare.
