The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with SEND in a welcoming and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support identified students with SEND and provide assistance to other students with SEND in the classroom as required.
  • Ensure the safety and access to learning for all students, helping them to maximise their potential.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to deliver high-quality education and care.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Contribute to the development of the department and the school through creative and forward-thinking ideas.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the well-being of all students.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support students with diverse needs.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a teaching or support role within an educational setting.
  • Experience with delivering small group or one-to-one interventions.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies for supporting students with SEND.
  • Experience with behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques.
