The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students and families to overcome barriers to attendance. This is a key position within a high-performing team, focused on ensuring students can fully benefit from the opportunities available at the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students and families to improve attendance through targeted interventions.
- Work closely with specific year groups to identify and address attendance challenges.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of attendance and related communications.
- Collaborate with pastoral teams and other school staff to ensure a coordinated approach.
- Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Show initiative in developing strategies to improve attendance outcomes.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on attendance trends.
- Engage with parents and carers to build positive relationships and encourage attendance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working in a school or education setting, ideally with a focus on student support.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in a role involving student engagement or pastoral support.
- Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures in education.
- Experience with data management systems or attendance tracking software.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage a varied workload.
