The Opportunity:
As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing and operating the school’s catering services, ensuring that all pupils and staff receive high-quality meals. This role involves overseeing breakfast and lunch services, as well as the sixth form café, and plays a key part in supporting the school’s mission to provide a supportive and enriching environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the catering services.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality, nutritious meals for all pupils and staff.
- Oversee the operation of the sixth form café, including menu planning and service standards.
- Work closely with suppliers and staff to maintain food quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations in the catering environment.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to align catering services with the school’s values and goals.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment.
- Support the school’s commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing where possible.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in managing catering services in an educational or institutional setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including during school holidays and term-time.
Preferred
- Experience with menu planning and cost control.
- Background in a co-educational or school environment.
- Familiarity with catering software and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
