Catering Manager needed to oversee school catering services and ensure quality meals for pupils and staff.

The Opportunity:

As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing and operating the school’s catering services, ensuring that all pupils and staff receive high-quality meals. This role involves overseeing breakfast and lunch services, as well as the sixth form café, and plays a key part in supporting the school’s mission to provide a supportive and enriching environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the catering services.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality, nutritious meals for all pupils and staff.
  • Oversee the operation of the sixth form café, including menu planning and service standards.
  • Work closely with suppliers and staff to maintain food quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations in the catering environment.
  • Collaborate with the school leadership team to align catering services with the school’s values and goals.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment.
  • Support the school’s commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing where possible.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing catering services in an educational or institutional setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including during school holidays and term-time.

Preferred

  • Experience with menu planning and cost control.
  • Background in a co-educational or school environment.
  • Familiarity with catering software and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
