The Opportunity:

The Director of Food, Hospitality & Catering will lead and inspire students and colleagues, shaping a forward-thinking curriculum that supports student success and development in this vital subject area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver an innovative, engaging curriculum in Food, Hospitality & Catering.
  • Lead and manage the department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve excellence in practical and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff and subject technicians to enhance departmental offerings.
  • Oversee the use of modern facilities and resources to support learning and curriculum delivery.
  • Shape the vision of the department, including future development of facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure the curriculum meets the needs of students and aligns with the school’s educational goals.
  • Promote the value of Food, Hospitality & Catering as a subject that benefits all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven experience in teaching Food, Hospitality & Catering and Design & Technology in a secondary school.
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and ability to sequence skills and techniques effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to high academic and pastoral standards.
  • Ability to lead and inspire both students and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience with Level 1 and 2 qualifications, GCSEs, and other relevant courses.
  • Experience in managing and developing departmental resources and facilities.
  • Commitment to wider school responsibilities and community engagement.
