Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Chemistry or Physics to students across a range of key stages.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and progression.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the science department.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
- Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that enhance the student experience.
- Stay up to date with developments in the subject area and incorporate new knowledge into teaching.
- Mentor and support student learning through individualised and group-based instruction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in teaching Science at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry or Physics.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in a specialist music school or similar educational setting.
- Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience in developing and leading science curriculum initiatives.
- Experience with teaching a range of key stages.
