Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Chemistry or Physics to students across a range of key stages.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and progression.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the science department.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that enhance the student experience.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject area and incorporate new knowledge into teaching.
  • Mentor and support student learning through individualised and group-based instruction.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching Science at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry or Physics.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in a specialist music school or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in developing and leading science curriculum initiatives.
  • Experience with teaching a range of key stages.
