Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring chemistry lessons that promote curiosity and a deep understanding of the subject.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student learning and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly to ensure continued improvement and success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school’s continued success.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events that enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate new teaching methods and resources.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s science curriculum and departmental initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience in teaching chemistry at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and a passion for teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience working with ECTs or in a leadership role within a department.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with using technology in the classroom to enhance learning.
  • Experience in a school with a strong Catholic ethos or values-based education.
