The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join a dynamic and well-resourced Science Department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students at IGCSE and A Level, while contributing to a supportive and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Chemistry at IGCSE and A Level, and support KS3 Science across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Design and deliver engaging, challenging lessons that foster deep understanding and intellectual curiosity
- Set and mark prep, monitor student progress, and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Prepare students thoroughly for internal and external assessments
- Collaborate with colleagues and technicians to deliver high-quality, safe practical work
- Contribute to departmental development, enrichment activities, and the wider life of the school
- Engage in coaching-based professional development and research-informed teaching practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
- Strong subject knowledge at IGCSE and A Level
- Passion for Chemistry and the ability to inspire enthusiasm and confidence in learners
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to collaboration, reflection and professional learning
- Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing
Preferred
- Experience in teaching at IGCSE and A Level
- Experience with practical and investigative science teaching
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives or enrichment activities
- Experience in coaching-based professional development
