Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes musical excellence and student achievement
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular learning opportunities
  • Support the inclusion of all students, ensuring they have access to a rich and varied music education
  • Participate in departmental planning and professional development
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning
  • Engage with the wider school community, including parents and external partners
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of raising standards and student outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education
  • Experience teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for music
  • Commitment to inclusion and student success
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students

Preferred

  • Experience with ECTs and mentoring
  • Involvement in extra-curricular music activities
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support
