Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging and challenging Chemistry lessons to students across a range of ability levels.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities and science-related events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Science Department to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Chemistry and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practice.
  • Support the school’s commitment to pastoral care by fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to maintain and enhance teaching standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related science subject.
  • Full UK teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at secondary level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational abilities.
  • Commitment to student welfare and a supportive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A-Level Chemistry.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular science activities or STEM initiatives.
  • Experience with modern teaching technologies and resources.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the Science curriculum.
