Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging and challenging Chemistry lessons to students across a range of ability levels.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities and science-related events.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Science Department to enhance the overall learning experience.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Chemistry and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practice.
- Support the school’s commitment to pastoral care by fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities to maintain and enhance teaching standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related science subject.
- Full UK teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching Chemistry at secondary level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and organisational abilities.
- Commitment to student welfare and a supportive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching A-Level Chemistry.
- Involvement in extra-curricular science activities or STEM initiatives.
- Experience with modern teaching technologies and resources.
- Ability to contribute to the development of the Science curriculum.
