The Opportunity:

A Teacher of Mathematics is sought for a one-year maternity cover post, starting in September 2026. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to a highly successful department and inspire students across all year groups, from Year 7 to the Sixth Form.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Mathematics to students from the Third Form through to the Sixth Form, including A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s mathematical culture and support extension classes and university entrance preparation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Engage in pastoral and broader curriculum activities, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic education.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of enrichment programmes for Sixth Form students.
  • Support the school’s mission of academic excellence and student development.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and staff development initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Mathematics education.
  • Ability to teach Mathematics across all key stages, including A Level and Further Mathematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and pastoral care.
  • Experience working in a school environment with a strong academic culture.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Mathematics in a boys’ school setting.
  • Involvement in co-curricular or enrichment activities.
  • Experience with university entrance preparation or extension programmes.
  • Familiarity with forward-thinking teaching methods and curriculum innovation.
