Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and attainment.
- Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
- Contribute to the curriculum development and assessment processes.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the school.
- Oversee the management of resources, including teaching materials and technology.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Head of Department or equivalent leadership role in Mathematics.
- Strong track record of delivering excellent student outcomes across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Mathematics curriculum and assessment practices.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in an independent or selective school environment.
- Familiarity with digital innovation and technology in education.
- Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of Mathematics.
