Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and attainment.
  • Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to the curriculum development and assessment processes.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the school.
  • Oversee the management of resources, including teaching materials and technology.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Head of Department or equivalent leadership role in Mathematics.
  • Strong track record of delivering excellent student outcomes across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mathematics curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in an independent or selective school environment.
  • Familiarity with digital innovation and technology in education.
  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
