The Opportunity:

As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial strategy of the King’s Group during a period of growth and expansion. This role is pivotal in ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the institution while aligning financial goals with its educational mission and charitable purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and reporting across the Group.
  • Strengthen governance, controls, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Oversee the management of investments, reserves, and endowment funds.
  • Provide strategic oversight of fee structures, bursaries, and financial support programs.
  • Collaborate with commercial and development teams to drive non-fee income generation.
  • Support enterprise initiatives and contribute to the long-term financial vision of the institution.
  • Ensure alignment of financial operations with the school’s educational and charitable objectives.
  • Provide high-quality financial advice to senior stakeholders, including the Head and Governors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles, ideally at Board level.
  • Strong strategic and analytical capabilities with a track record in managing complex financial environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and provide clear financial direction.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
  • Experience in governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A genuine commitment to the educational mission and values of the institution.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector or not-for-profit organisations.
  • Familiarity with endowment and investment management.
  • Experience in driving non-fee income generation and enterprise initiatives.
  • Background in a historic or culturally significant organisation.
