The Opportunity:
As an Operations Manager Premises, you will oversee the efficient running of estates and maintenance operations, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-quality service. This role is central to the school’s long-term development and daily operations, offering a chance to shape the future of a historic institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a multi-skilled team in estates and maintenance, including carpentry, joinery, plumbing, and electrical trades.
- Oversee both reactive and planned maintenance using a CAFM system, meeting KPIs and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the Premises Director and Project Surveyor on planned works and long-term estates strategy.
- Act as Principal Contractor under CDM regulations where required.
- Lead performance, training, and resource planning for premises supervisors and other team members.
- Ensure value for money and maintain excellent stakeholder engagement across the school.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a 10-year estates plan.
- Monitor and maintain the highest standards of service, safety, and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong operational experience in construction or estates management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage a multi-skilled team.
- Experience with CAFM systems and compliance standards.
- Understanding of CDM regulations and health and safety requirements.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational institution setting.
- Background in project management or strategic planning.
- Knowledge of long-term estates and development planning.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
