Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Biology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Deliver outstanding Biology lessons and support the teaching of Science in KS3.
- Develop and implement departmental strategies to improve student outcomes and engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum design and teacher training.
- Support and contribute to a wide range of extra-curricular science activities.
- Work closely with a dedicated technician to ensure the department is well-resourced and up to date.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the department.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure consistent academic success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Biology and Science education.
- Proven ability to lead a department and deliver high-quality teaching.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology and Science.
- Experience in teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Commitment to student achievement and professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
- Experience with extra-curricular science activities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
