The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and reflective Classroom Teacher to lead a specialized classroom for neurodivergent learners, including those with cognitive and developmental disabilities and on the autism spectrum. This role is central to the school’s mission of fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to students’ learning profiles and needs.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) with measurable academic, social-emotional, and functional goals.
  • Support students’ development of self-regulation, independence, communication, and social skills.
  • Create a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes calm, engagement, and belonging.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to ensure students access meaningful learning experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching qualification and relevant experience working with neurodivergent learners.
  • Experience in designing and implementing individualized learning plans.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and whole-child development.

Preferred

  • Experience with assistive technology and alternative communication methods.
  • Knowledge of British and Spanish curricula.
  • Experience in a bilingual or international school setting.
  • Experience with students on the autism spectrum or with cognitive and developmental disabilities.
