The Opportunity:
A College Organist and Accompanist (Part-Time) is needed to support the school’s music program. This role involves accompanying the congregation and Chapel Choir at weekly College Eucharist services, as well as assisting individual performers and working at major school events. It is an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant musical and spiritual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany the congregation and Chapel Choir at weekly College Eucharist services.
- Support individual performers and students during music exams.
- Participate in major school events such as the Remembrance Service and the Leavers’ Service.
- Collaborate with the Music team to enhance the musical experience for students and staff.
- Maintain and care for the organ and related musical equipment.
- Prepare and perform a variety of musical pieces in a professional and engaging manner.
- Engage with the school community through musical events and performances.
- Work closely with the Chaplain and other members of the pastoral team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- High level of musical ability on the organ.
- Experience in church music and choral accompaniment.
- Ability to read music fluently.
- Commitment to working within a school environment and supporting the spiritual life of the community.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or mentoring young musicians.
- Familiarity with a range of musical styles and genres.
- Experience with school events and performance coordination.
- Knowledge of music technology and digital tools.
- Flexibility to work part-time and manage a varied schedule.
