As a Community Development Officer, you will play a vital role in securing income through fundraising, community lettings, and alumni engagement. This is a dynamic opportunity to shape the future of a school and its community by building meaningful relationships and driving impactful initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain funding generation through sponsorship, advertising, and philanthropy.
- Review and enhance the school’s lettings, alumni, and business offerings to improve customer experience.
- Maintain a database of key stakeholders and partners.
- Promote the school’s ethos and reputation to strengthen community links.
- Create and manage fundraising communications and materials.
- Liaise with community users to understand their needs and potential for further investment.
- Collaborate on social media and PR content to showcase the impact of donations.
- Organise events, including evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
- Build positive relationships with school departments to ensure collaboration.
- Prepare financial and engagement reports for senior leadership and the governing body.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Good GCSE grades (including English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above)
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Strong ICT skills
- Ability to work flexibly with varying hours
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with a good sense of humour
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
- Creative and able to think outside the box
Preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced education setting
- Experience in relationship management, sales, or marketing
- Experience in line management and workload management
- Advanced Microsoft Word skills and knowledge of management information systems and databases
