The Opportunity:

As the Personal Assistant to the Bursar, you will provide essential administrative support to the Bursar, ensuring the smooth operation of a critical department that spans Finance, Estates, ICT, and Governance. This is a challenging and rewarding role that offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and forward-thinking institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritise all incoming correspondence, ensuring urgent matters are promptly addressed.
  • Coordinate and maintain the Bursar’s diary, balancing daily operational needs with strategic planning.
  • Organise and manage travel arrangements for conferences and meetings as required.
  • Support the Bursar in committee work by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Prepare and format complex reports and presentations to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Liaise with the Bursar’s team, managing leave and administrative line management tasks.
  • Administer the parent-facing aspects of the bursary assessment process.
  • Assist with the coordination of high-profile internal events and functions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word.
  • Experience in a close-knit administrative or secretarial team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to draft professional correspondence.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A high level of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred

  • Previous experience supporting a senior leader or executive-level post-holder.
  • Experience in committee administration or minute-taking.
  • Background in the education sector or a complex, multi-site organisation.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary between £38,000 and £43,000 per annum.
